Course Registration and Registration Renewal Procedures

Attention: The information here has been prepared as of 25.04.2017 in accordance with the applicable legislation and regulations. It is the students' responsibility to follow the changes that occur after this date and to comply with the regulations. When are the first registrations of the students placed by ÖSYM?

The placement result documents made by OSYM indicate which dates and where to register. In addition, announcements are made on the University's website for newly settled students. Read the announcement very carefully

How is the first registration process done at our university?

You can register personally from https://www.turkiye.gov.tr with your e-government password or going to  faculty/college /vocational college that you settled.

Do I need to register for a course in the first year I enroll by winning college?

You need to register.

Between which dates should I register the course?

You have to register for the course within the deadlines specified in the academic calendar of the unit you are studying. You can access the Academic Calendar from Dumlupınar University Student Affairs Department website.

What is the Academic Calendar and do I have to do all my operations according to the academic calendar?

Academic Calendar is the plan determined by Dumlupınar University Senate and includes all educational processes such as registration deadlines, add or delete courses, and deadlines for exams, exam start-finish dates. You have to do all your transactions within the framework of the Academic Calendar and related regulations.

What happens if I do not register for courses within the periods specified in the Academic Calendar?

Students who do not renew their registration at the specified dates are deemed to have not renewed that semester and cannot benefit from their student rights.

Is the period when we have not registered for the course counted from the education period?

Yes.

I did not register for the Fall semester. Can I register for the next semester (spring)?

Yes.

How many courses do I have the right to take in a semester?

You have the right to take 30 ECTS courses in one semester. However, depending on your success, you can take more courses in the ratio of 5, 8, 12 or 15 ECTS.

The courses I will take in the course selection screen do not appear. What should I do?

Depending on your lesson plans, the lessons may not appear in the system, the lesson has been removed, the lesson code has been changed, the lesson has not been opened or it may have been opened incompletely. In this case, contact your advisor. However, do not complete your course registration until the problem is solved.

There is a quota full warning in classes, I cannot select the course. What should I do?

First of all, you should try other elective or group lessons. If all quotas are full, you should consult your advisor.

I registered my course and sent it to the advisor for approval. Should I follow the approval process?

Yes. Make sure the advisor approval. Course registrations without advisor approval are invalid and you cannot participate in this course and exams. The responsibility lies entirely with the student.

Which issues should I pay attention to most during the course registration phase?

You must pay attention to three important points in the course registration. In order not to extend the semester by taking missing courses, curriculum status check at the beginning of each semester, completing the registration within the period specified in the academic calendar and advisor approval.

What is the curriculum?

The curriculum includes courses that you have to complete in the program you are studying. If you fail or fail to take one or more of the courses in the curriculum, you will not be entitled to graduate.

What is curriculum control and when should I do it?

By accessing your curriculum information and transcript in the system of www.obs.dpu.edu.tr, you have to compare the courses you have taken at the beginning of each registration period with your curriculum.

Is there anything I should do after the counselor approval is over?

After the advisor approval process is completed, check the courses you have registered one by one. One or more of the courses you have sent to the advisor's approval may have been removed from your list by your advisor.

I am a freshman student. How many credits can I choose courses?

First year students are required to take all the courses of the semester they are enrolled in. The normal course load of students in one semester is 30 ECTS credits.

I failed the elective course. Can I choose another elective course instead?

Yes. However, when choosing a course from obs.dpu.edu.tr, you should choose the elective course you want to take and take the other elective course that you have opened in the semester. If you do not choose courses instead, you may have problems with the next semester.

Do I have to attend classes that I have failed before?

No. If the continuation condition is fulfilled in the previous semesters, the continuation condition is not sought. However, instead of the elective course you have failed, you will be required to attend the newly chosen elective course.

Can I take overlapping courses in the curriculum?

No. If you are not exempt from continuing one of the overlapping courses, you cannot. You cannot take courses that have attendance and overlap. If you coincide with the second course of your own program with your advisor, then you can take similar courses in other programs.

Where can I register the course?

You can do this from anywhere on the internet by logging onto www.obs.dpu.edu.tr. However, you must have your course choices approved by your advisor.

Do I have to attend the courses I will be enrolled in, or should I still enroll?

Yes

What is the add / delete lesson process? How should I do this?

This is the procedure that you can do by contacting your advisor for the courses you have chosen, or for the courses you want to change, within the periods specified in the Academic Calendar.
